Font(s) Du Jour: Mrs Eaves Sans & Modern (!)

Yes, this deserves and exclamation mark. It's hard not to like the serifed Mrs Eaves, and to now have these new additions to the family just makes me so....happy :)

Heavenly Type

When designing, you often deal with images and letters as separate entities. When there is type involved, you set it in a way that compliments the image while still conveying the information clearly. I love it when the line gets blurred--when the type becomes the image or part of it--like these beautiful constructions by Si Scott.

Surf's Up!

Jeff Canham's work was featured on DesignMilk today and just flipped over this hand-painted sign.

His typography is super fun, retro, bold and playful--just in time to kick off the summer months. Here are some more samples of his work, more can be seen on his site here.
