Dog + Letterpress

I'm so excited to announce two of my favorite things brought together this month! My art print collab with Natalia of Design Lab Creative Studio is now up on my etsy just in time for the holidays. A portion of the sales will benefit The National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. Nat also has the print up on her online store, buying from either place will benefit the same cause. We're all about sharing the love :)

In more dog+letterpress news, the current issue of Bark Magazine features a great article about my two favorite topics of convo. I was lucky enough to be brought into the mix as my shop was the backdrop for the photos in the article (how cool is that?). Nat and I were serendipitously brought together as she and her husband Bill took the photos and designed the article. This small creative world keeps getting smaller. Max even makes a cameo (that's him in the center on the right page)!

Inspiration: Portland Livin'

Just got back from visiting my sister in Portland for Thanksgiving last week and didn't need to go very far for some design inspiration. Actually didn't even need to step foot outside! Besides the freezing temps we experienced, her house was just way too cozy and warm that I ended up spending most of the time indoors.

Thought it would be a great post to share some pics of how she decorated her home. I feel like it could easily fit into a cool design/shelter magazine--clean lines, pops of bold color, and just the right amount of knick-nacks to personalize a space.

Design + Print: Marin Kristine cards

Wanted to share this cute custom die-cut biz card I printed for local photographer, Marin Kristine. We met through a mutual client and loved the idea of letterpress for her cards. We took the customization a step further by cutting the shape to match her logo. Love it!

Vendor Spotlight: Meg Smith Photography

I had the pleasure of working on an amazing wedding in Napa this past summer located at the Durham Ranch. It has a country yet modern vibe and is the perfect setting for a chic and fabulous wedding. The super-talented Meg Smith photographed it, and I'm hoping that the pictures will make their way to a wedding blog soon so that I can talk to you more about them. As an invitation designer, I rarely get to interact with other vendors except for maybe the photographer or wedding planner. But when I do come across a vendor whose work just blows my mind, I usually like to talk about it :)

Until the pictures get published, I have to keep the details under wraps. So for now, I would like to share these pics from Meg's portfolio as inspiration. Make sure to check her site for more goodness...

Blog Love: Jose Villa Photography

A huge part of my business lies in the wedding industry. It's an amazing industry to be involved in, mainly due to the talent pool it generates. I'm a fan of a lot of different vendors from paper goods to photography to event planning and styling and many more...

One person whose work I follow is Jose Villa, who brings a fine art approach to his wedding photography. His work is always fresh, modern, fun, and memorable and one of the few that still use film along with the occasional Holga fix. Published in numerous magazines, he has an amazing portfolio and a blog full of gorgeous eye candy.

SF Camerawork Celebrates

This past wednesday, I attended another anniversary--this time SF Camerawork's 35th. They opened this week with an autobiography exhibit of the Bay Area, the first of a 2-part series entitled San Francisco Plays Itself. It runs till October 31st so check it out if you can...

Off the Press: Sf Camerawork Colophon

Just completed a 16" x 20" colophon that will be included in a boxed set of photographs for SF Camerawork. They will be celebrating their 35th anniversary with a 2-part exhibition starting on September 10th.

Sexy Skog

Just finished some cards for my lovely and talented friend Jennifer Skog. She has a great eye for detail, lighting, compostion, mood--all the things you would want from a photographer. I can't say enough good things about this lady.
