Open Studio: Playdate with Hannah and Seymour

Today, the original crew was back together: Me, Max, Hannah & Seymour. Hannah Berman is the lady behind Pie Bird Press, a little card company that is 100% a reflection of her--sweet, cute, fun, and truly one-of-a-kind. Hannah was my very first shopmate, we've gone through business ups and downs together, raised puppies at the shop together and shared countless stories about boys, friends, family and pop culture gossip all while listening to Justin Timberlake's first album :)

Hannah has a love for all things vintage and colorful as you can see from her collection of illustrated cards. I have many favorites, the more obvious being her Max cards :) but here are some for you to enjoy:

She gets a lot of her inspiration from going antiquing, monthly flea market jaunts, fruit picking with friends and other such fun activities and creates these illustrations that (at least for me) conjure up warm fuzzy feelings of times when life was still so simple and less complicated. Also, her eye for color is SO precise! I miss having her around when I mix inks, she always seemed to know how to get it just right. Speaking of color--she gave me these lovely sweet peas that just so happen to match the right shade of pink already on my press...

Here she is working on some new designs at the shop today! Fun fun.

and here's a fave from her new collection coming next year--pencil shavings!! Brilliant. Make sure to check out her blog for more goodness...

We had lunch at Gregiore down the street on Cedar for some salad, hummus on lavash, and of course their famous potato puffs. Yum...

Love their packaging...

And of course, gotta have some shots of the pups at play--here's Seymour with Lisa & Max :)

Had a super fun time today...Galina also stopped by to do some work on our project--spending the day with good friends is a definite cure for those Monday blues, thanks ladies and Seymour! Took lots of fun pics so make sure to check out my flickr for more.
