I had the pleasure of spending the day with one of my good friends, Jane Kim, who is an all-around amazing person and talent. She's been a full-time artist since 2006 and has had numerous shows around the Bay Area, the most recent one opening this Saturday, August 22nd at the Untitled Gallery in Sausalito.
This coming fall, Jane will be transitioning into being a full-time student as she recently got accepted into California State University, Monterey Bay's Science Illustration program. I can't wait to see the work that she'll be generating! A lot of her past work has been influenced by wildlife and nature and paired with her acute attention to detail, this seems to be the perfect fit for her :)
Here are some favorite picks from her website:
We went to one of my favorite shops down the street for a coffee and a cookie for a quick break this afternoon.
I asked her to draw me something today, on the fly. And this is what she came up with! She did this in minutes and couldn't finish since we had to leave for the day. Amazing :)
